1. typical of myth: relating to, appearing in, based on, or typical of myth

2. imaginary: not true or real, but existing only in somebody's imagination

3. legendary: having an extraordinary reputation

Word Usage

mythical or mythological? These two adjectives are interchangeable in the sense of "relating to or typical of myth" but mythical and its variant mythic are preferred in the senses "imaginary" (the mythical [or mythic] quest for the Holy Grail) and "legendary" (the orator's mythic [or mythical] ability to excite audiences; a mythic [or mythical] figure in global politics).
