Definition:
 
1. unit of distance: a unit of linear measurement on land, used in English-speaking countries, equivalent to  (5,280 ft) or  (1,760 yd) or 1.6 km ()

2. measurements 
Same as  nautical mile


3. unit of measurement comparable to mile: a unit of distance or length used in different historical periods or in non-English-speaking countries, e.g. the Roman mile

4. race over one mile: a foot race that is a mile long
