Definition:
 
1. gathering for buying and selling: a gathering in a public place for buying and selling merchandise or farm products, especially one held regularly
a cattle market

2. market building or place: a building or open space where a market is regularly held

3. collection of shops or stalls: a number of small independently operated shops or stalls, housed in the same building and sometimes all selling the same type of goods

4. economics politics supply and demand: the whole area of economic activity in which the laws of supply and demand operate, often thought of as a regulatory force affecting both economic and political affairs
market forces

5. shop: a shop, especially one that sells goods or food of a particular type

6. commerce region or group as customers: a geographic area or a section of the population, considered from the point of view of the amount of goods that can be sold to it
