1. group of West African languages: a group of around 20 languages spoken in West Africa, especially in Sierra Leone, Mali, Guinea, and the Ivory Coast. It is a branch of the Niger-Congo family of languages. Native speakers: 9 million.

2. Mande speaker: a member of a West African group of people who speak a Mande language
