1. wild animal resembling dog: a wild animal resembling a dog, with long legs, large ears, and a bushy tail, that often hunts in packs and feeds on small game, fruit, and the carcasses of dead animals. Native to: Africa, South Asia.  Genus Canis.

2. swindler: somebody who works with accomplices to deceive people, especially to swindle them
