Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb switch or swap places: to put each of two things in the place of the other, or change places with something else

2. transitive and intransitive verb alternate or follow each other: to arrange things alternately in a series, or be arranged in this way

3. transitive verb exchange things: to give something to somebody and receive a similar thing from them in return
