Definition:
close female genitals by stitching: to close the vagina of a girl or woman partially by stitching it or closing it with a clasp. The clitoris is often removed at the same time. The practice is traditional in some northeastern African cultures, but disapproved of and even outlawed in some countries. See also female circumcision
