Definition:
 
1. point to something: to point something out or point to something

2. show existence or truth of something: to be or provide a sign, signal, or symptom that something exists or is true

3. register measurement: to register a measurement, e.g. of speed or temperature

4. show what somebody thinks or intends: to state or show an opinion, feeling, instruction, or intention, especially briefly or indirectly

5. show what should be done: to make somebody think that something should be done or used ( usually used in the passive )

6. medicine show presence of disease: to point out the presence of, or remedy for, a disease or syndrome
