Definition:
 
1. intransitive verb float in air: to float or flutter in the air without moving very far from the same spot

2. intransitive verb wait near by: to wait near a person or place, usually in a nervous, inquisitive, or expectant way

3. intransitive verb be undecided: to be unable to decide between alternatives

4. intransitive verb be unstable: to be in a condition that is neither one of two alternatives nor the other
hovering between life and death
