Definition:
 
1. intransitive verb make "s" sound: to make a sound like a loud continuous "s"
the sound of car tires hissing over a wet road

2. transitive and intransitive verb show negative opinion of something: to show disapproval or dislike of somebody or something, e.g. a performance, by making a hissing sound

3. transitive and intransitive verb whisper loudly: to whisper loudly and angrily
