1. geography shrubby uncultivated land: a tract of uncultivated, open land with infertile, often sandy soil covered with rough grasses and small bushes or heather

2. plants low bush: a plant of a family that includes heather and some other low-growing evergreen bushes, commonly found on heaths. Genera Erica, Calluna.

3. insects brown butterfly: a butterfly with coppery-brown wings. Genus Coenonympha.
