1. fish with spiny fins: a spiny-finned ocean fish with an armored head and sets of pectoral fins modified for crawling on the ocean bottom, some species of which are used for food. Native to: Mediterranean, warmer waters of Atlantic, and some species in Pacific.  Family Triglidae.
