Definition:
 
1. transitive verb swallow something fast: to swallow something greedily, hurriedly, or frantically, taking in large amounts at a time
She gulped down her coffee and grabbed her coat.

2. intransitive verb gasp: to gasp or choke

3. intransitive verb make swallowing motion: to make a swallowing movement with the throat, especially because of being frightened or nervous
He gulped and looked around nervously for the exit.

4. intransitive verb make swallowing sound: to make a loud swallowing sound with the throat, especially because of drinking too fast
