Definition:
 
1. responsible for wrongdoing: responsible for a crime, wrong action, or error and deserving punishment, blame, or criticism
He was guilty of a serious error of judgment.

2. officially found responsible for crime: found and declared responsible for committing an offense by a court or other legal authority

3. ashamed of wrongdoing: aware of having done wrong or committed a crime and regretful and ashamed about it
I still feel guilty about having forgotten your birthday.

4. showing guilt: indicating or suggesting that somebody feels guilt, has done wrong, or has something to hide
a guilty look on his face

5. causing guilt: causing or likely to cause emotions of shame and regret
