verb  (past and past participle ground [ grownd ], present participle grind·ing, 3rd person present singular grinds)
Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb pulverize: to crush something into very small pieces by rubbing it between two hard surfaces, or be crushed in this way

2. transitive and intransitive verb make rasping noise: to rub two surfaces together with a grating noise, or make a grating noise by rubbing things together

3. transitive verb push something down with twisting motion: to push something down firmly or crush something on a surface with a twisting or rotating motion
