Spelling Note

flour or flower? Do not confuse the spelling of flour and flower, which sound similar. Flour is a powder used to make bread, pastry, etc.; the word is also used as a verb, meaning "cover with flour." The word flower is chiefly used as a noun, denoting the colorful part of a plant (as in a bunch of flowers, roses coming into flower); as a verb it means "produce flowers" or "develop to maturity."
