intransitive verb 
Definition:
 
1. be very happy: to be extremely happy or joyful about something
exulted in his newfound freedom

2. be triumphant: to be very happy or triumphant about something unpleasant that happens to somebody else
The victors exulted over their enemies' annihilation.
