3. act of describing or discussing something: the act of describing and discussing a theory, problem, or proposal, or of commenting on a written text

4. music opening section of musical composition: the opening section of a piece of music, especially of a sonata or fugue, in which the principal themes are introduced

5. literature theater revelation of story's background: the part of a literary or dramatic work in which the basic facts of setting and character are made known
