exception

Definition:
 
1. somebody or something excluded: somebody or something that is not included in or does not fit into a general rule, pattern, or judgment
make an exception for family members

2. exclusion: the act or condition of being excluded

3. criticism: a criticism, usually a negative one ( formal )

4. law legal clause: a clause in a legal document that limits the effect of a part or the whole of it
