1. avoidance of something: avoidance of something unpleasant, especially a moral or legal obligation

2. means of avoidance: a means of escaping or avoiding something, especially one that involves cunning or deceit

3. avoiding of issue: failure to give a direct answer to a direct question, usually in order to conceal the truth
