1. transitive and intransitive verb hang or bend down limply: to move lower, hang down, or sag limply, or make something do this
Her eyelids drooped with weariness.

2. intransitive verb be dispirited: to become discouraged or dejected
His spirits drooped at the prospect of the long and arduous journey.
