Definition:
 
1. treatment of something as unconnected: the treatment of somebody or something as distinct or unconnected, or the fact of being treated in this way

2. 
Same as  disassociation (sense 1) (sense 2)


3. chemistry division of molecule: the breaking up of a molecule into simpler components

4. psychiatry separation of emotions: the separation of a group of usually connected mental processes such as emotion and understanding from the rest of the mind as a defense mechanism
