Definition:
 
1. transitive verb shut off supply of public utility: to shut off a telephone line or the supply of water, gas, or electricity to a building or customer

2. transitive and intransitive verb detach power from appliance: to break the connection between an appliance and its source of power

3. transitive verb break telephone connection between speakers: to break or lose the telephone connection between two people during a conversation ( usually passive )

4. transitive verb detach one part from another: to detach something that was connected to something else

5. transitive and intransitive verb break off emotional or spiritual relationship: to end, forget, or lose an emotional or spiritual connection with something or somebody
