Definition:
 
1. remove waste products: to remove the accumulated waste products of metabolism from the blood of a patient whose kidneys are not functioning, or undergo such a procedure

2. separate substances from solution: to separate dissolved substances from a solution by diffusing it through a semipermeable membrane, or be subjected to this process
