1. removal or erasure of something: the action or process of erasing, scoring out, or removing something written, printed, or shown or stored on a computer

2. something removed or erased: something erased, scored out, or removed from a text or a computer file or directory

3. genetics absence of genetic material: the loss or absence of part of a chromosome, ranging from a pair of chemicals base pair to a whole chromosomal arm. Some medical conditions are the result of deletion.
