Definition:
 
1. something providing help or support: something that sustains or supports somebody or something that is otherwise liable to collapse, fail, or falter

2. medicine walking aid: a staff with a handgrip and a rest for the forearm or armpit, used to help a person who is unable to walk unassisted

3. anatomy 
Same as  crotch (sense 1)


4. nautical forked support: a forked supporting piece for a boom, oar, or spar

5. riding leg rest on sidesaddle: a forked leg support on a sidesaddle
