croak [ krōk ]


noun  (plural croaks)
Definition:
 
1. cry of animal or bird: a rough, usually low-pitched, vibrating sound, especially the characteristic cry of a frog or crow

2. rough voice of person: a rough low uneven sound or voice of somebody with a dry or sore throat

2. transitive and intransitive verb speak hoarsely: to speak or say something in a rough low uneven voice because of a dry or sore throat
