1. Russian peasant: a peasant of Polish or Russian descent living in southeastern Russia or in Siberia or Ukraine. Cossacks are noted for their skill in horsemanship.

2. Cossack soldier: a member of a Russian army unit whose soldiers are or were Cossacks
