Definition:
 
1. remove errors from something: to take the errors out of something

2. indicate errors in something: to point out or mark the errors in something

3. rectify imperfection: to rectify an imperfection in something, or counteract something wrong or undesirable

4. modify something: to modify something such as behavior in order to make it acceptable or bring it up to a standard

5. punish somebody to gain improvement: to punish or scold somebody, especially a child, to bring about improvement or reform
