transitive verb 
Definition:
 
1. give somebody legal sentence: to make a judicial pronouncement stating what punishment has been imposed on a person found guilty of a crime, especially in the case of a heavy penalty or a death sentence

2. consider somebody or something guilty: to judge that somebody or something is to blame for something

3. say somebody or something is bad: to state that somebody or something is in some way wrong or unacceptable

4. make somebody experience something: to force somebody to experience something very unpleasant, especially something permanent or long-lasting

5. ban use or consumption of something: to issue an official order saying that something such as a building is unfit to be used

6. prove somebody guilty: to serve as proof of the guilt of somebody

7. law appropriate property: to take property under eminent domain for public use
