1. able: having enough skill or ability to do something well

2. adequate: good enough or suitable for something
The graphics test showed the printer to be competent, but no more.

3. law legally capable: accepted by a court as legally qualified to be a party or witness

4. medicine biology functioning normally: able to function normally, especially in response to an antigen
