Definition:
 
1. property as security against loan: property or goods used as security against a loan and forfeited if the loan is not repaid

2. descendant from different line: a relative descended from the same ancestor as another person but through a different set of parents, grandparents, and other forebears

3. with property as security: obtained by putting up property or goods as security, to be forfeited if the loan cannot be paid
