1. restriction of power: the limiting of the power of something or somebody to act independently ( formal )

2. mathematics enclosing of something within geometric shape: the act of drawing one geometric figure around another so that they touch at every corner vertex of the enclosed figure or at every side of the enclosing figure without cutting across each other

3. mathematics drawn shape: a shape drawn or enclosed by circumscription
