Definition:
 
1. member of Native American people: a member of a Native North American people who once lived in central and southern Mississippi, and who now live mainly in Oklahoma and southern Mississippi. The Choctaw were one of the Five Civilized Nations who, under the Removal Act of 1830, were sent to live on reservations in Oklahoma.

2. Choctaw language: the Muskogean language of the Choctaw. Native speakers: 10,000.
