Chib·cha [ chíbchə ] (plural Chib·cha or Chib·chas)

1. member of extinct S American people: a member of an extinct Native South American people who lived in the Andes Mountains in central Colombia. The Chibcha died out following their defeat by the Spanish conquistador Gonzalo Jeménez de Quesada in the 1530s.
