Definition:
 
1. document providing official evidence: an official document that gives proof and details of something such as personal status, educational achievements, ownership, or authenticity

2. electronic identification: an electronic document verifying somebody's relationship, identity, and responsibilities in financial transactions ( used in e-commerce )
