1. edible powder like chocolate: an edible powder with a taste similar to that of chocolate, made from the seeds and pods of an evergreen tree

2. edible pod: a long dark-colored edible pod that contains a sweet-tasting pulp

3. evergreen tree with edible pods: an evergreen tree with edible pods from which carob powder is made. Flowers: red. Native to: Mediterranean.  Latin name Ceratonia siliqua.
