Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb visit somebody to solicit something: to travel around an area asking people for something such as sale orders, opinions, or votes

2. transitive verb debate something: to debate or discuss something thoroughly

3. transitive verb look at something carefully: to examine something in detail
