Bul·gar [ búl gr ] (plural Bul·gars)

Definition:
 
member of ancient Bulgarian people: a member of an ancient Slavic people who settled in areas of present-day Bulgaria around the 7th century ad. They abandoned their Finno-Ugric language and adopted the Slavic language and customs of the people they subjugated.
