Botswana

Bot·swa·na [ bot swnə ] landlocked country in southern Africa that shares borders with Namibia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. It became an independent member of the Commonwealth in 1966.

Capital: Gaborone.
Population: 1,573,267 (2003).
