Definition:
 
1. make somebody or something holy: to bestow holiness on somebody or something in a religious ceremony
The bishop blessed the new chapel.

2. protect somebody or something: to watch over somebody or something protectively
We prayed for God to bless our marriage.

3. wish somebody or something well: to declare approval and support for somebody or something
The governor has blessed the new plan.

4. confer desirable quality on somebody: to give somebody a desirable quality or talent ( usually passive )
blessed with brains as well as good looks

5. thank somebody: to express heartfelt thanks to somebody ( often expressing a wish )
