1. intransitive verb express disagreement: to express disagreement with somebody, especially continuously or angrily

2. transitive and intransitive verb give reasons for something: to give reasons for an opinion in order to support it
You could argue that this calls for greater freedom, not less.

3. transitive verb persuade somebody: to persuade somebody to do something by giving reasons
