Definition:
 
1. curve: a curved or semicircular line, direction of movement, or arrangement of items
swung in a high arc overhead
an arc of children around their teacher

2. mathematics section of circle: a section of a circle, ellipse, or other curved figure

3. astronomy visible part of astronomical object's path: a section of the path that a planet or other astronomical object appears to follow, especially that seen above the horizon

4. electrical engineering electric discharge: a luminous discharge caused by an electric current flowing across a gap in an electrical circuit
