noun  (plural an·a·logues)
Definition:
 
1. corresponding thing: a thing, idea, or institution that is similar to or has the same function as another

2. biology equivalent but independent organ: a body part or organ that has an equivalent function to one in a different plant or animal but that evolved independently. The wings of birds, bats, and insects are analogues.

3. food food substitute: a food or dish made to resemble another by the substitution of inferior ingredients

4. Canada chemistry
