1. transitive verb expose something secret: to reveal something that has been hidden or kept secret

2. transitive verb take covering off something: to remove a veil or other covering from something, especially somebody's face or a plaque, monument, or artwork during a formal ceremony

3. intransitive verb take off veil: to remove a veil from your face
