unexceptional

un·ex·cep·tion·al [ ùnnik sépshən'l ]

adjective
Definition:

1. not special: not special or unusual

2. with no exceptions: allowing no exception

un·ex·cep·tion·al·ly adverb

Word Usage
unexceptional or unexceptionable?

The distinction in meaning corresponds to that between the positive forms exceptional and exceptionable. Something is described as unexceptional when it is not special or unusual, even perhaps a little dull: Her performance got a good review, but I thought it was unexceptional. Unexceptionable comes close to this in meaning, but its strict meaning is "good enough to provide no reason for criticism or objection": Their behavior has been unexceptionable so far.
