under way

un·der way or un·der·way [ ùndər wáy ]

adjective,

adverb
Definition:

proceeding: in motion or progress
not long before the project was under way

Word Usage
under way or underway?

Although the form underway is often seen, and has long been in use, under way is still widely preferred. The only exception to this is the adjectival use that precedes the noun: The submarine received underway servicing.
