	titillate or titivate? These two unrelated verbs look and sound similar and are sometimes confused. To titillate is to excite or stimulate somebody, usually in a mildly sexual way, whereas to titivate is to improve the appearance: She was accused of titillating her readers with details of the actor's private life.He was titivating himself in front of the mirror.
