Definition:
 
1. transitive and intransitive verb exchange for money: to exchange a product or service for money, or be exchanged for money

2. transitive verb offer something for sale: to offer a particular product or range of products for sale

3. intransitive verb be bought in quantity: to be bought in large numbers
The book is selling well.

4. transitive verb make people want to buy something: to increase the sale of or the demand for a product

5. transitive verb persuade somebody of something: to make an idea or proposal acceptable to somebody
