1. component part: any of the parts or sections into which an object or group is divided

2. zoology organism's body part: any of the individual units that make up the body or part of the body of some animals

3. mathematics part of geometric figure: the portion of a line or curve between any two of its points, or the portion of a solid cut by a plane

4. linguistics speech sound: any of the individual speech sounds that make up a longer string of sounds
